'EXTASE' critiques d'album
ECSTASE is a conceptual art album with commercial songs; originally conceived as the soundtrack to a film, a film project that was going to be developed with Donald Cammell. The Ecstase multi media project won best art film at the Portobello film festival 2019. The album needs to be purchased in its entirety, hence only the 3 tracks on downloads All 10 songs are written and produced by Anne Pigalle, the self-portraits Polaroid photographs for the cover are also executed by Anne Pigalle. The vinyl was released in 2018, the CD in 2019. A long time in the making, it features musicians such as Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols). Paul Robinson (Nina Simone), Terry Edwards (Gallon Drunk), Cos Chapman. Malcolm Garrett helped with the cover artwork. What the PRESS says: MOJO: Written, produced and powerfully sung by Pigalle, Ecstase is her most satisfactory album to date. 10 songs progressing from melancholy to True love via Black Dahlia, the unsolved 1947 murder case, inspiring overripe art rock noir a la Bowie’s Diamond Dogs, while La Ballade du Late-Night Soho and the playful A Man on Piccadilly with Terry Edwards jaunty sax echo Hunky Dory.
